I am an artist and filmmaker whose practice is rooted both in India, where I’m from, as well as in Norway, where I currently live. Filmmaking is both the medium and method of my research and becomes a way to gather and co-learn from different carriers of knowledge. Often, the starting point of my projects are images produced by the persistent forces of development that shape cities in India and transform conditions of living. Images such as: people not shopping, eating or watching movies in shopping malls, toxic foam floating on man-made lakes or woman getting off her bike to play with the flying toxic foam. Through my work, I read spaces in holistic and inclusive ways and sometimes playfully intervene in them to create new experiences in an attempt to re-imagine spatial relations.
