an interactive installation to help bring to consciousness the power that humans have to expend or
conserve electricity. The
installation space was a dark room with a video projection on one wall, a cycle
placed facing the wall and a light and shadow animation that spread across
The stop-motion video metaphorised the movement of electricity (packets of energy) in the form of the activities of a post-man.
The cycle was a symbol for the simplicity with which change can be brought about.
The light and shadow animation of hands on the wall, which was powered a dynamo attached to the cycle came on only when someone pedalled and stopped when one braked. The animation emphasized the fact that the power to expend/conserve energy lies in our hands (feet in this case).
